Often, yes, where air sealing matters. Closed-cell spray foam delivers R-6.5 per inch and seals air leaks in one step, which batts cannot do. For standard new-construction walls on a budget, batt insulation meets code at the lowest cost. We price both so you can compare.

What R-value do I need in my attic?

Attic targets range from R-38 in most of California and Arizona to R-49 to R-60 in Oregon and Washington under current energy codes. The exact number depends on your state, climate zone, and assembly. Vezina confirms the code target for your address during the free assessment.
